The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

I've been going to Thomas Jefferson for almost three years now. I transferred over to the high school halfway through my freshman year. while the culture of the school is subpar par with regular sports teams and the normal attitude of teenagers, the school has many problems. in my sophomore year, I had a geometry teacher who would outwardly speak about his opinions on slavery. I found his racist remarks disgusting and extremely inappropriate and when speaking to the administration I was told "There just wasn't enough proof". for weeks I was tormented by this teacher who had found out I reported him to the administration. I had reported him so many times that I got the district lawyer involved. he resigned by the end of the year to work at a Christian private school; to this day, im infuriated he still has a teacher's license. his name is James Crum. I wish only the worst for him. and I wish only the worst for the ignorant administration that was afraid of doing the right thing.

What I liked about this school was that they offered college credit and education because it helps get some of your general education out of the way before starting college.

I love how supportive all the coaches and teachers are. I wish more students would get involved in sports and extracurriculars. More people would be there to cheer on at sporting events.
TJ is an amazing school with a real sense of community. Parents, students, staff, and alumni are supportive of the school and value its contribution to CB. Staff work hard for their students, and there are new and exciting programs being implemented all the time to help students be successful.
My son graduated from TJHS in 2012 and he will be graduating from Morningside College in May 2015 (3 years). TJHS prepared him for college and he took advantage of the IWCC credits/AP classes while in high school. I think TJHS was an excellent fit for him and we open enrolled him into TJHS. Thanks T...
