GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I graduated from Custer High School. My experience was great the teachers are willing to work with students on a one on one bases. The teachers also do not make you feel dumb or stupid if you need help. My science teacher was one of the best teachers I had not only was he a science teacher but he was a coach as well. I learned a lot from the man. Homecoming week in Custer was interesting as well. This is the time for the students, faculty, and parents to get involved. The joy that comes out of it lasts a life time. Custer is a great place to get a amazing education is a small community. Everyone is willing to help as long as the student takes the time and put the effort in.

School offers wonderful academic extracurriculars. New staff and opportunities have been making the school better and better. The administration sincerely wants to and is actively making improvements. It is a generally safe environment with A LOT of academic opportunities compared to other schools. Teachers are good at their jobs and the school disciplines well. Many opportunities to help a student succeed.

Administration is horrible. They do not deal with troublesome teachers who have numerous complaints in their files and do not seem to be cohesive with their community or with their school board. Students are accepting for the most part.
