I have gone to Dalton for 10 years and i am planning to stay for high school as well. Dalton is a great school. I think the only way they need to improve is in doing more trips for middle school.

Dalton does not want to help you if you have any disabilities or if you need additional help. They are only centered for over achieving students. The administration makes it difficult to get the proper help and everything is so disorganized. It needs a major overhaul.
3.0 Senior

The teachers are great, and the learning is advanced, but the administration does not accommodate disabilities properly and does not listen to their students. School culture is extremely competitive and stifling; groups tend to be centralized around economic status.

Good private school for those with the money looking to give their child an edge to get into private colleges like the Ivy League schools. Great marketing for that! If your kid is an overachiever and looking to be one you'll fit right in.Some of the kids and parents are arrogant but in general it's...

My daughter joined Dalton in Kindergarten and will be in 2nd grade this fall. The progressive approach which entails learning by doing projects and the interdisciplinary approach have been some of the unique features of learning in the first 2 years. My daughter LOVES school. We have seen her grow a...

Although they were forced to work very hard, there were numerous important benefits. They learned to think, write, speak in public, work in teams and on their own and to...

I am the parent of an alum. Now that he has also completed college (yes, at a top Ivy League school), I can reflect with fondness on this unique institution of higher education. Dalton in a word is GREAT. From the day my son was admitted, to the last day of classes, it was a dream trip come true. He...
