Daniel Island is home to one of the top-rated private schools in South Carolina. Established in 1915, Bishop England High School was created to serve students and provide an education based on rigorous academics and valued religious teachings. The school is located near the northern part of the island and serves students from neighborhoods throughout the Charleston peninsula and Daniel Island.
Serving around 700 students a year in ninth through 12th grade, this school boasts a 12-to-1 student-teacher ratio. With high test scores and several Advanced Placement classes, many students attend a 4-year college or university upon graduation.
Outside of the outstanding academics, the school offers 18 sports and over 25 extracurricular clubs and organizations. With one of the highest rated sports programs in the state, many students play at least one sport throughout their four years at Bishop England. Through the involvement of sports and ample club opportunities, students learn valuable leadership skills and the importance of working together as a team.
Since the doors opened in 1915, shaping students into successful and generous individuals has been a top priority. To this day, the school still aims to mold well-rounded students who contribute to their community and hold high moral standards.

Excellent class choices for students to challenge them appropriately (including Honors and AP). Great extra curricular activities from drama to softball to photography.Learning environment with spiritual teaching to support growth beyond academics.

Great school! They really care about your emotional and spiritual being. They do everything in their power to help you be a better person. I definitely recommend this school. Wish I could go back!
