As a Whole Child Distinguished School, John H. Amesse Elementary prides itself on instilling a love of learning, achievement and wonder in its students. The John H. Amesse Elementary School is located on Scranton Street, adjacent to Elmendorf Park and serves prekindergarten through fifth grade. The school offers Spanish language instruction for its students. A typical school day includes learning blocks in literacy, math and science, followed by empower courses such as gym, STEAM and art. A student support team meets the needs of students who attend this school. The group includes a psychologist, nurse, social worker and a restorative coordinator. The Montbello community takes education very seriously. John H. Amesse is one of two schools collaborating with the Montbello Children’s Network. Students can participate in after-school activities such as yoga, soccer, tee ball, Girl Scouts and more. The culture at John H. This school is terrible!!!! My daughter was bullied in class and she's only in ECE 3. The teacher to student ratio is absolutely atrocious and my daughter was barely learning and her drawings reflect the neglect she endured. I took her out within 3 months and that was the best decision I ever made.

This school is a joke. The new staff and their core values was all talk, and just for show. Your cold will do much better somewhere else. My children have attended this school for 2-4 years now. The school is more concerned about the dress code then the academics. The staff is only interested in the spanish kids.
