Since it opened its doors in 1921, Morey Middle School has graduated a large and distinguished pool of alumni, perhaps the most famous of which is Madeleine Albright, the country’s first female Secretary of State. Another prominent Morey Middle School Mustang includes Marie Greenwood, one of Denver’s first African American educators who spent decades fighting segregation. Serving a student population of about 350 students in sixth through eighth grades, Morey’s mission is to provide learning that is personalized, supportive, rooted in social justice, and integrated within the local community. And while the school building itself has been upgraded for modern use, many historic features are nearly a hundred years old. The school’s auditorium walls are decorated with murals donated by classes in the 1930s. It is also one of a few schools in Denver that has a swimming pool. The Morey motto of expecting MORE: Motivated, Organized, Respectful and Empathetic students. Three pillars guide the school’s curriculum — personalization, challenge and love. With a focus on real-world application, education at Morey Middle School is driven by student interests, informed by social issues and enhanced by experiences outside the classroom.

I can't say my review is reliable anymore since I heard there were many positive changes in the past few years. However, when I was there, the new administration took a decent school and completely train wrecked it. The school environment was absolutely degrading, both academically and socially. I still encourage readers to seek opinions of the school in the past few recent years and take my review with a grain of salt.

My daughter who has trouble learning was pulled out of class and tutored. They were so inclusive and met my and my child's needs. The teachers were so responsive and nice to everyone 10/10 best school I have seen.

Agree with the previous reviewer. Detentions galore, if your kiddo isn't GT they aren't seen. Very exclusionary to the kids who are. Teachers do nothing about bullying. Very bad experience.

I am a student at Morey, and it is awesome. Not only are all the classes really interesting, they have a great HGT program and help challenge students really well. One of the most used acronyms there is SUCCESS, with each letter being a totally different but important part of learning. All the stude...
