GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

For how small the school is, they do somethings well, others not so well. Administration is the downfall of the school, with lots of very bad decisions over the last couple of years.

I love the teachers at Saydel. The new building remodel of the lunchroom and library make the building feel more open and connected. Being connected in sports or clubs is such an important part of socializing here, but I believe that that's a good thing. I just wish we had more science classes or maybe a different language to study besides Spanish. The community is very close and welcoming.

I agree that this is a well kept secret in Des Moines. Perfect size of school where most extracurricular activities are offered and everyone gets to participate. Class sizes average around 100. Safe school with top notch facilities. Competitive in all extracurricular activities with the exception of...
