Detroit Christian Schools of Excellence is a small, private Christian school district in Greenfield, Detroit, Michigan that enrolls 43 students between kindergarten and 12th grade.
Detroit Christian Schools of Excellence was founded in 2011 after the last remaining accredited Lutheran school in Detroit closed. Its goal is to provide students with a high-quality college-preparatory education within the context of the Lutheran faith.
In addition to a grade-appropriate core curriculum, Detroit Christian Schools of Excellence offers religious classes, designated time for prayer and daily worship. It has a student-to-teacher ratio of 6-to-1 with classroom sizes of eight. Outside the classroom, it offers before and after school care for children of working parents.
The school encourages children to use their gifts to prepare for a future as caring, community-oriented Christian leaders. Students have the opportunity to lead worship, contribute to and lead service projects and work on annual events such as the all-school Christmas Celebration in the winter and the Black History Celebration in the spring.
Students graduate from Detroit Christian Schools of Excellence ready as socially, emotionally and spiritually mature young adults, ready to step into the next phase of life with the integrity and confidence to lead and pursue their goals.
