GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

DEPSA High is overall an excellent high school and I wouldn't rather spend 4 years anywhere else. The students, teachers and staff are always welcoming and nice all the time. The school environment just feels warming and accepting.

I knew Detroit Edison was a good school but it really became more clear to me my senior year. I say that because we are just now ending our first semester and my administration and principal really do a good job looking out for all of us. Our school is kind of small with only 100+ seniors but that is still a lot of people to make sure everyone is okay and are doing what they are supposed to do to get where they want in life. Our counselors are very welcoming and productive in our school life. They are daily always updating each senior on what they are needed to do. One of my favorite things is the known help. Sometimes students have too much pride or don't know how or who to ask for help. But because our counselors look out for us so carefully they know who need helps and comes to YOU.

Detroit Edison Public School Academy has its strengths, but it also has areas that could be improved. As a senior, I can say that my time here has been valuable in preparing me for the next step in my educational journey. However, I would recommend that the school focus on enhancing its college preparation services, providing more resources for students, and further promoting a culture of inclusivity and diversity.
