The chances of getting an enjoyable experience at Oyster River are hit-or-miss. It's definitely no place to thrive if you're targeted for bullying. No student should have to spend their high school life enduring such abusive treatment from peers and a corrupt administration, but it is what it is.

Good school and I enjoyed my four years there. I love the robotics club, we have worked together to build robots from scratch to compete at different levels. It's so much fun

Oyster River High School implemented a new phone policy this school year (2024-2025). As a senior at first I was really upset and struggled with the rules. I felt as though I should have been able to use my phone when teachers weren't actively teaching. But as the year went on, I saw how more students were participating in class and staying focused on their assignments. As much as this new rule bugs me I think it has benefited the students at ORHS.

They pay attention to the least helpful aspects of the students day to day life, such as parent meetings etc.. when they really should be paying attention to the students mental health in safety.

Never ever choose Oyster River unless you want to risk your children getting bullied to death -- figuratively AND LITERALLY. Regardless of how many times parents and students have complained to the school about bullying, no progress is ever made. Many teachers contribute to putting students’ mental health at risk by assigning at least 3 to 4 hours of homework every day.
