Located in the town of Eagleville, Skyview Upper Elementary School fosters a learning environment for fifth and sixth-grade students in the Methacton School District. The school serves approximately 700 students annually and has a student-teacher ratio of 13-to-1. Students at Skyview feed in from any of the four elementary schools in the district—Arrowhead, Eagleville, Woodland or Worcester—and graduate up to the Arcola Intermediate School for seventh and eighth grades. As part of academic life, students maintain a core class load of English, math and science, with a general social studies course for fifth grade and a geography course for sixth-grade students. The school does not use bells to denote specific periods and allows students “flex” time, which is intended to foster support opportunities and address individual needs. More than half of the students show proficiency in math and reading, and the school provides numerous extracurricular opportunities to their students, including music ensembles, student council and a student-led news program.
