Small town school working to upgrade to get to the next level. The type of classes offered at the school are more limited that other surrounding schools. Would love to see more foreign language and sport choices offered at the school.

I have lived in the town of Earlham my entire life and I would never trade that. It is a K-12 school all in one building with about 800 total students. With it being that small of school there is kind of a limit to the kinds of classes you can take as in Spanish is the only class you can take. Every student grade 7 and up gets their own personal laptop computer which helps so much with studying and homework. About 6 years ago the school built a much overdue turf football stadium and we are in the middle of building a brand new gym too. Our auditorium is phenomenal, when I see other schools I feel bad. We have one of the best bands in the state of Iowa, with our Jazz band winning the 2A state championship last year.

I believe that Earlham High School has a great hometown feel to it. All of your teachers know you name and work to create a professional relationship with every student they teach. The students, as well as the staff, create a great learning atmosphere where students are pushed to reach their highest potentials. If I had to change anything about my school, I believe that we could change the way we do standards-based grading.

I have two children in this district, and moved from a much bigger, metro school system. This school has outstanding, motivated, caring teachers and administration. The K-12 environment is very nurturing and has been such an asset to our family. Enrolling our kids was one of the best decisions we ha...
