The administration does its best to prepare students for success in their academic lives. However, due to teacher shortages many classes do not have the proper teachers, hindering students knowledge.

The best part about Elgin High was the diversity among the students. Usually in a high school you tend to see a majority of one culture but at Elgin there are plenty of diverse cultures. The one thing I believe should change is the readiness for college. Now that I am attending college, my freshman year was very difficult due to not being prepared for college level courses.

Elgin high school is your average high school that is strong in the diversity of its students and teachers but struggles to get involvement and support from parents, the community, and the school district. I have met people at Elgin high school that I would never have met anywhere else but there feels like a disconnect between student needs and faculty. I love my high school but I would like to see the goals, dreams, and needs of the students put first by the adults around us.

The teachers at the school often bully the kids. My student wasn't ready for college after 4 years and has to go to a junior college. The challenge is that so many kids are behind that the teachers have to spend time with those students, which drags everyone else down. The leadership is horrible. Th...
