Elgin High School is a small school and I did love the community and environment around it. However, I don't think I can confidently say that I am college ready. I know I'm very smart, but the teaching and the way it is set up there is not the best. I feel like I'm going to need to relearn quite a lot of stuff while in my University.

I would say I enjoy it a good amount because it is a good community here and there. I'm mostly at ACC but from when I come to the High School its not bad, and the teachers I have are really nice and good at their job. I would say the best part bout my experience here would be the good friends I've made here and the good teachers I have. As for the worst thing at this school I would say is that it doesn't feel very safe some of the time. I would like to see the school grow and be built on to more which is being done right now.

What I like about Elgin High School is the ECHS program provided that helps students with college preparation and also helps support students in their ACC journey.

I was proud to have my children attend the schools in Elgin. You can't complain about the schools if you as a parent, or you child/children are not INVOLVED! Get INVOLVED in after school activities, take advantage of what the schools here have to offer and you'll be shocked at how wonderful they are...
