GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Well I first moved to Rains when I was in the 6th grade. I had been to about five schools before that so I just figured it wouldn't be too long until I would be leaving. I am now a Junior graduating early and I have found that it is a quite normal school. There is plenty of stuff that I would change about this school but for the most part it has done everything for me that I would expect from a small town school. It has given me food and fine varitey of classes with up to speed teachers but it is only now starting to try harder than being a normal school. Everything that I have gotten at this school has been great but not above and beyond. Starting next year they will have made many great changes to better the school and the education requirements.

This school could be way better. The only thing cared about is boys football, and athletics period. The arts get hardly any recognition. Kids are bullied for their identity, religion, and sexuality. If you aren't straight, cis-gender, or Southern Baptist you are payed no attention to or bullied. Other than that, the education itself if great and your kids could go to college if they aren't made fun of.

The teaching is amazing. If you send your child here, they will definitely have a great leaning experience. However, the disciplinary process is a bit messed up. And bullying is definitely a thing here.

We've had our child in several schools, and Rains ISD is by far the worst. They send my kid home, throwing up, and then gave him an unexcused absence. Worse, it wasn't a mistake, it's simply a misguided policy.
