GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

What I liked about Española Valley High School was the great teachers I had through out my 4 years in high school they've teach me so much and prepared me for college. One thing I will change will be have less substitutes for the lower class men.

The school overall isn't at its best. Over the years I have been there it has gotten worse. There are not as many teachers as there used to be and the administration has just gone down hill. When I first started as a freshman we had a decent principal who did his job. We actually had teachers who taught us what we needed and helped us to achieve. Now that I am a senior I see that there are more substitute teachers working there than there are actual teachers. Through my high school life I can count a total of maybe seven good teachers that I have had. The rest of my teachers were pretty much substitutes or they just didn't really care. The school does try and do good things for the students. I can't really complain though because I have had a good time there. I have made the best of friends there and met some really great people.

Espanola Valley was a safe place for me. I'd go to school with no worries of wether or not I'd be home after. Although Espanola does have its critics as well as some bad reputation talks, for me it was always a good experience. I was able to walk peacefully to and from classes. Teachers were always instructing us in a respectful manner.

It's honestly not that bad of a school as others say it is. Went there all 4 years and mad some of the best memories. If there is anyone second guessing go here, don't. Trust me it's an experience to say the least.

I heard that this school had sponsored teachers meaning they are now legal resident of this country from being a foreign national. And I heard from a realable source from the Human Resources that they are no more sponsoring. That will be the biggest mistake that this district could make because I ha...

EVHS is good school. It does have some really good teachers and some that are not so good. I believe that because of required state testing some teachers cater to students that are really not interested in learning. This can create problems for students that excel and need to be challenged. I also f...

I transferred to this school for my Sophomore Year from neighboring Los Alamos High and this is the best choice I could've done in my life so far. this school is like a family, students and staff have personal bonds and can discuss issues with them. Student Council is amazing at this school! The Stu...
