GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My school is critically underfunded as I come from a small town. Due to the state's policy creating an environment where the amount of money funding public education in dependent upon the taxes payed by the townspeople my school has had to make major cuts to our music and art departments. These departments are where I have found my home throughout high and as long as the funding of public education remains as it is I don't see a future with arts in it. My school is a safe and creative place full of intellectual staff and thoughtful students. I love my town and my school.

Evansville High School has a lot of work to do. There is no accountability by the administration to hold students accountable for their actions. Something needs to change.

EHS had an open-minded culture and supportive teachers. However not all of the teachers did as much for me as they probably could have. Their Spanish program was rigorous but incredibly effective and what I learned there has helped me so much now that Spanish is my major in college. Sometimes I felt that the administration treated students unfairly.

I am a teacher and our family open enrolled our kids out of this district for the last 5 years. We made a huge financial sacrifice to sell our home and move out of Evansville because we needed our kids to get of that school district. I would not recommend JC McKenna or Evansville High School to anyo...

Beyond horrible. There is no accountability from the school in it’s entirety. They have systems in place to protect themselves (the school) - i.e. the “bullying button” on their website is a mechanism to protect the school - not the students. As a parent trying to communicate with the school about a...

The administration is a joke. They target certain people and do not care for bettering our children. My children dread going to school not because of learning but because of the staff that is in place there. I would seriously suggest own enrollment to any parent. They need to let go off the administ...
