In 1906, when the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, a papal congregation of the Roman Catholic Church, opened an academy for boys and girls in Falls Church, there were two teachers and a handful of students. St. James Catholic School grew its reputation for academic excellence. The faith-based private day school now enrolls an estimated 460 prekindergarten through eighth grade students
St. James Catholic School is in the heart of Falls Church City, with easy access to Tysons Corner, Arlington and the surrounding communities
The campus has state-of-the-art classrooms, a computer and robotics lab, art and music rooms, a gym, a modern library and a multi-purpose room.
Students enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities, including Catholic Youth Organization basketball, tennis, track, choir and band. Enrichment programs and clubs include robotics, chess, drama, public speaking, flag football, cheerleading, yoga and scrapbooking.
In recognition of its academic excellence, parental involvement, and community support, St. James Catholic School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon of Excellence by the U.S. Department of Education in 1999, 2014 and 2020.

I graduated from Saint James a few years ago, and I can attest to this school destroys students self confidence and does not effectively teach the subjects without brainwashing the students. A Catholic school that forces over exaggerated traditional beliefs does not set up students to be able to act...

We are a new family this year and have been impressed with the focus on the whole child. My children have flourished as learners, and their confidence and communication skills have sky rocketed! The community has been welcoming and inviting. I wish we made the switch sooner.

Terrible. Teachers force opinions on students, many teachers are highly unqualified, there is absolutely no diversity or acceptance taught, and the lack of support for students with accelerated learning is disgraceful.

St. James was heaven for our children prior to middle school. The community is wonderfully engaged. They were learning at an advanced level as compared to their public school peers.
