The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I like Blue Ridge because of how close the relationships are between the students. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic, the school was thrown way off course and many teachers quit. Some classes are still online, and procedures for homecoming and other activities are much more restricted than the other schools. Thankfully, we have an amazing new principal that is trying his best to improve things for our community.

My experience at Blue Ridge High School has been simply wonderful. The teachers truly care about my education and whether or not I am succeeding. It is amazing to see how they will take up their personal time to assist you in any way you may need it. I love how close my relationships with the teachers are. Being a small school, it is easy to know a lot about each of the students. If I, or another student is having a bad day, you know at some point, a teacher will pull you aside and ask if you are doing okay. I am so thankful to have gone here and would recommend this school district to any incoming high-school freshman.
