The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

I have been attending Jefferson County High School for only a year now. I am a sophomore. So far, it's been a very fun experience. I do wish there was better control over the students. I wish that choices could be up to the students and that the adults didn't control everything. It would be a fantastic school if it had a little more structure.

My experience at Jefferson County High School has been boring and average. For my entire four years there has been a limited number of activities to join that is the main factor I would like to see change. Many teachers employed at the school would claim that they are starting a club and when we pay the fee that is required to join nothing happens. They just take the students money and the students never here nothing about the clubs again. My favorite part about Jefferson County High School is the amount of students that go there. The percentage is not small but it is not to big to make me feel crowded.
