Located in Downtown Fayetteville, Arkansas, The New School is a well-rated private institution serving children from one year old through high school graduation. It enrolls over 400 students, and uniforms are not required. Founded in 1971, The New School began as a preschool and eventually evolved to include every grade. Through its many changes, the institution remains committed to its mission to develop engaged, compassionate students who love learning and work well with others. The approach seems to be working, as 100% of graduating seniors are accepted into four-year universities and colleges.
The school offers Advanced Placement and pre-Advanced Placement courses, as well as a comprehensive arts program that includes instruction in music, performing and visual arts. There’s even a music scholarship program for students to receive individualized instruction from renowned artists. In the past, students have had the opportunity to work with Grammy-nominated performers!
The New School features various types of athletics for middle and upper school students. In fact, 75% of students in grades seven through 12 take part in sports here. Alongside such teams as basketball, volleyball and track and field are less common offerings like bowling, swimming and golf. There’s also a Tinkering Studio and an Innovation Center, two spaces where students learn about technology through project-based interactive experiences.
In addition, The New School provides before- and after-care programs to support students and parents.

I joined The New School in 7th grade and the first thing I noticed was the school is small which allows people to connect easier with each other giving you a better school experience and with the small classes leads to more communication between students and teachers.

I felt a strong sense of community from the moment I started working here. I have always felt like I have a voice here and that my opinion truly does matter. I believe that our school provides such a unique experience for students that you can't find elsewhere in NWA. I have enjoyed my time here and am looking forward to the future of the school!

The New School is a unique and great place to learn. This community is tight-knit and feels like a family. The teachers are awesome and really care about your learning. I feel that this school has really prepared me for the next chapter in my life and classes like chemistry have prepared me for college learning. I have made life-lasting memories and friends here. I wouldn't be the same if I went anywhere else.
