The teachers are all very encouraging, and there's many opportunities given to students to excel such as STAR and Concurrent classes. The worst part would be rest rooms, some don't even have doors attached to the toilet stalls and others have creaky or broken ones.

My overall experience with Southside High school is positive. The best part being the amount of opportunities provided and the built in structure of community between the students. My negative outlook on the school however is the lack of support, from some of the teachers for certain students.

I enjoyed going to school at Southside High School, particularly the band program. I played the tuba, and the band director was able to hire a tuba instructor that greatly improved my playing abilities. I made 1st band 2nd chair all region and 2nd band 3rd chair my senior year of high school thanks to him. This led me to be able to play in the Razorback Marching Band in college. Also the computer science program is amazing here.
