Foster Traditional Academy is a public elementary school in the Jefferson County public school district, serving students in Grades K-8. Foster is a part of the district's magnet program in this area and is on the mission to touch the heart and mind of every student. Its vision is to academically, socially and emotionally prepare each student for the next grade level and beyond. Foster Traditional Academy sits on an expansive 42 acre campus with a beautiful modern building.
In addition to the comprehensive education program offered at FTA, students have an opportunity to participate in honors and advanced programs.
FTA participates in the Kentucky Department of Education's Student Technology Leadership Program, a state-wide club program where students learn about technology and design projects. Members can then compete in "challenges" against other schools, culminating in a state-wide championship.
Other extracurricular activities include drama, basketball, cheerleading, band, orchestra and extended school services.
