Galena High School is a great place to learn in core and explorative fields, and is surrounded by an even greater community of students, teachers, and parents

I was very welcomed when I first moved here my Junior year. The teachers and staff were kind and helpful. School lunches were better than average. There are a vast amount of extracurricular activities to choose from.

Galena High School has 13 Illinois State Scholars this year! I continue to be impressed by this school, and my children have had a top notch education here. Two have gone on to earn their Bachelor and master degrees, and agree that GHS was instrumental in their success at college.

With only 30% of students prepared for a 4 year college, a high teen pregnancy rate and a lack of new technology training this is not a great school. If you have to live in Galena and have high school age students, think private school.
