GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Overall, I've enjoyed my almost 4 years at the high school. The best parts are of course spending time with my friends, and learning new things. Although I've had some teachers that just didn't teach well at all. Some classes I've left learning nothing, just doing busy work most of the time.

The school itself was decent once things were being updated, it was more so the teachers and students that were the issue.

Garden City High School and its staff were very supportive. The school was pretty average in terms of college readiness and the administration wasn't the most effective in providing learning atmosphere that would supersede other schools. This school was pretty average in sports in which they would care more about one sport than the other and spend more money in that sport. The school was also very diverse and offered all kinds of opportunities to the groups that needed it.

We've had mostly exceptional care at Garden City with our child. Occasionally I wish it was better organized but as to the education and teacher involvement with my child, we couldn't have asked for better.

I went here my kids go here. It's a total joke I could write a book (no thanks to my education at gcps)about just how messed up it is. The communication is non existent and when they do its a blame game or I get to hear about how long they have been teaching. No return phone calls no returned e-mail...

Buses are back for some students! More adult supervision would improve the safety on campus and reduce bullying

I have had kids in the garden city school system since 2003 and have NEVER had any problems. My kids have had excellent teachers thus far and I look forward to the next year. I have a child in the 4th grade and a child in 9th grade and both are doing great.
