Everything about this school is amazing from teachers to staff to the PTA. We went to another GISD school before attending so we know the difference. Each and every need to attended to including 504/dyslexia needs as well as specific allergies. All of the teachers and staff pride themselves on knowing every kid by name and getting to know them. They care deeply. The PTA is very involved and provides fun community events and fundraising for the school. My kids absolutely love this school. You do have to test into the academy but we highly encourage it. It's 20ish minutes from our house but the bus system is well planned. Our bus driver is caring as well. I also love that my kids are exposed to numerous cultures at the school. The school even offers Orchestra to 4/5 grade students. Choir is offered to 3-5 grades.

The school counselor and nurse are wonderful.As far as family engagement goes, the school mainly welcomes parents for raising funds and volunteering. Some teachers welcome parent involvement in your child's education. But others do not respond to emails, and worse, the principal almost never respond...

Every administrator cares for each and every student- knowing them by name, knowing parents (even in covid), caring for their individual needs from 504/dyslexia and insect allergic reactions. Our experience at Kimberlin for the past 6 years has been absolutely amazing. We have had incredibly dedicated and highly competent teachers led by an wonderful principal who works tirelessly to ensure staff, parents and kids are happy and receiving the best education possible.
