The cost per student has skyrocketed under the current administration. They have a bloated management and support staff structure while class sizes are growing exponentially. My child is a freshman in HS this year and their core classes have between 26-28 students. They threaten the community each year telling us that class sizes will grow even further if we don't approve the budget yet they add/retain non-critical positions that waste our money. Their profile here says 8:1 ratio but that includes ALL STAFF (not teachers). They have gone from one of the better districts on LI to one that is sky rocking to the bottom and there's no end in sight to their free fall.

North shore high school is a small educational school district, with many students starting in a elementary school in the district and moving up to middle school and then high school, all within a 10 minute drive from each other. The teachers and students are tightly knit es community with many opportunities for students with different career paths to be able to achieve their dream in whichever way they want, from arts to sciences.

At North Shore High School, there are so many pros compared to cons for attending this high school. For example, I feel as though our athletics department is consistently doing well and is strong in Long Island. Also, the school budget spares no expense in trying to improve our school and its resources. I would say that one con is that our school is less diversified compared to others which might be a benefit or it also might not be.

North Shore HS is a fantastic school. It has great teachers and great principal leadership. have two children who graduated from the district.
