For West End residents wanting a private education for their children, the Breck School offers a full education starting in preK and going all the way until a student’s senior year of high school. Tuition rates are dependent upon what grade a student is in, with a preschooler’s half day of school starting at $22,890, and a high school senior’s tuition costing $35,345. With each grade the student goes up, so does their tuition, however the Breck School does offer financial aid. The school itself sits on a 52 acre campus and has athletic amenities which include a baseball, football and soccer field, along with six tennis courts and lanes for track and field. Located not far at all from the main campus either is the Breck School Anderson Ice Arena, where both boys and girls hockey games for the school are played. With a median 31 in ACT scores, Breck School students are prepared for college and beyond starting at a young age, and by the time they graduate, their educational path will have made them ready to transition into adulthood and a career.

My Experience at the Breck School has been beneficial to my future. My classmates and teachers have challenged me in ways I never could have imagined. I am getting the opportunity to go to China in May, and I am incredibly excited for this opportunity for exploration and learning. This is just one of the opportunities that have been presented to me in my time at Breck.

The best part about Breck is the academic challenge and rigor. The volume of homework at times is not appropriate to the class. We went from 4th Grade where there was no homework to 5th Grade where there were hours of homework given daily and it was overwhelming not only for the students but parents. There also needs to be more emphasis places on Executive functioning skills throughout all grades.

Excellent school that educates the whole child. Most teacher have been excellent and very dedicated to their students. There needs to be more work done navigating racial and class issues.

I hate this school for several reasons, I recently had a health issue that resulted in me having frequent doctor's appointments and missing a significant amount of class. Although most of the teachers have been great (particularly in english and arts), there was no path to success after my injury. A...

Do not come to Breck for Upper School only. They do not do a good job of assimilating new students. Policies are rigid and grading is all over the map. Facilities are excellent, but the culture of the school is problematic on many levels. There are better options.

Lots of teachers joined during the last few years, without much quality control. Many of them are simply bad. Some of them barely have a degree in community college. Some make tons of mistakes in their classes and handouts and are very good at confusing students. The school principal needs to be rep...

Equally disturbing is the lack of generational heterogeneity on The Breck School Board. There are plenty of viable Board candidates amongst the high-accomplished, enthusiastic young Breck alumni who are generationally in touch with the vast majority of parents of current Breck students. Alternativel...
