Part of the Hopkins Public School District, Meadowbrook Elementary is in the top 20% of public schools in Minnesota, even ranking in the top 10% of all the state schools for overall test scores in the 2018-2019 school year. Here, the needs of the individual student are considered, and Meadowbrook Elementary engages with them through personalized learning, schoolwide enrichment, and a curriculum built around STEM and today’s technology. Students are also encouraged to partake in extracurricular activities such as band and orchestra. Reading as well is certainly encouraged at Meadowbrook Elementary, with two Little Free Library exchanges on the school grounds, allowing students to pick up and drop off books that they can read on their own. The school also has plenty of room for students to have fun on come recess, with a large playground complete with multiple bridges, slides, and even a miniature rock climbing wall. There’s even an area dedicated to music, where students can bang on pipes and drums and enjoy the sounds of their own songs. There’s also a soccer field and three basketball courts, so there’s no shortage of athletic activities that can be enjoyed outside as well. With such a strong focus on the educational path of their students, West End residents know that their children will always be the first in mind at Meadowbrook Elementary.
