GreatSchools Rating

Source: GreatSchools
GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at Graford High School has been a rollercoaster that's for sure. We have had plenty of new teachers throughout the years. This is our superintendents and principals second year with us. Honestly we don't keep teachers and faculty very well. But we do have many great programs to be apart of. For example: we have FFA which is my favorite. Us FFA kids are out there doing competitions and learning valuable life lessons. FCCLA also does the same thing. Some other big programs at out school is athletics and UIL. We are very successful in both programs. For our athletic program we won state for boys basketball three years in a row. For UIL last year we got second place in the state for Literary Critism. Our programs do really well at our school and the academic level is getting way better. We have started having more college classes then we used to. For those who aren't passing all their classes we have tutors that come every Monday during study hall to help those who need it.

Like the people and all, but the education part is kind of lacking. There is a lot of focus on athletics, and academics gets left behind.

I love the feel of a small town. Being apart of this school allowed me to form bonds of friendship, participate in a lot of extracurricular activity, and made me part of a loving community. I've experienced support from coaches, teachers, and the community. I am very grateful to have had the love and encouragement from this small school I call home.
