The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
The Test Score Rating reflects annual state test results for this school compared with scores statewide.

I liked that the school isn't too big or too small. Many different opportunities at Grand Junction High School. Advanced Placement classes available. Along with honors and dual enrollment classes. The only thing I would change would be the building itself, and that is already being done. A new school is being built now

Grand Junction High School was a great place meet new people and challenge me academically. I had the opportunity to take many upper-level college course that set me up for success in college and the teachers and professors there were always willing to help me in any way they could. However, there were sometimes where I felt that the teacher and administers were very overworked and classes were too full making it difficult to get the help I needed.

I have really had a good time at grand junction high school. It has been a welcoming and fun environment to be in and around. Also, I enjoy the atmosphere you get with being involved in things. Whether that is clubs, sports, or leadership roles. It is just a great school to be around.
This school is actually kinda good. I've always had a passion for music and now it just grew. My choir teacher and everyone in music here is so wonderful. A very high percentage of the students that graduate are not college ready. The most important focus is not academics but the struggling athletic programs. Some teachers are very caring and will respond to concerns immediately. Others never respond and you have to talk to the administrator to get fe...
We have been there 4 years, through former and new principals. I have found that kids that are high performing and popular will do fine. You will see the same kids get recognized over and over. There is no support for the average student that starts to struggle. Head in the sand is their motto. Teac...
