Lakeside Elementary is a choice school and National Blue Ribbon school in East Grand Rapids. It follows the school district's motto of “A Tradition of Excellence” by providing students with a well-rounded education. Teachers, staff and community members work together to continue to enhance the curriculum and promote strong character values.
The school motto, “Kindness Counts,” is embedded in the entire classroom experience. Teachers not only help students achieve their academic potential but also promote positive community engagement and school-wide kindness. Students can strengthen their extracurricular skills in Running Club, Chess Club, Math Team, art galas and more.
Thanks in part to highly trained teachers and experienced staff, Lakeside Elementary students routinely score above average in math and reading tests. From kindergarten through fifth grade, teachers prepare students to reach their academic potential and be confident in their own abilities.
Located in the southeast area of the Plymouth Heights neighborhood, Lakeside is near Reeds Lake, Gaslight Village and other East Grand Rapids icons. It’s proud to join Breton Downs Elementary and Wealthy Elementary in providing quality education to residents in East Grand Rapids.
