Wellspring Preparatory High School serves students in grades nine through 12, with a current enrollment of over 400 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Since 2010, this public charter school has been providing college preparatory education to the Grand Rapids neighborhood of Creston and the northeastern area.
As a college preparatory high school, Wellspring offers 18 advanced placement courses to its students, allowing them to earn college credit while in high school. The Early College Program, an educational plan that allows students to complete high school and earn an associate degree in a total of five years, is also available at Wellspring Preparatory Academy.
In addition to academic success, students are encouraged to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities like art, politics, competitive sport teams and music. As the “Home of the Wolves,” Wellspring Preparatory Academy offers team sports including cross country, soccer, volleyball, track, golf, basketball and more.
The mission of Wellspring Preparatory Academy focuses on helping students excel in high school, preparing them for success in college and encouraging them to be involved members of their communities. Every aspect of Wellspring is guided by five simple principles rigor, relevance, relationships, responsibility and moral focus.

This school is very diverse and allows you to be able to expand your knowledge by offering dual enrollment opportunities, and they will pay for it. They try everything in their power to help you succeed.

I wasn't doing too good at my old school. My grades were very bad and I got kicked out but then I found out there was a preparatory high school don't the street from me. So at the beginning of their second semester, I was able to start school and adapt to their learning style. I found out while at this school that I wanted to be a photographer with an entrepreneur degree. But that is not the only good part I started to get better grades because they took the time to help me understand the work than just rushing through it. So my overall experience is good and will continue to be that way.

I'm a Wellspring Parent and this is an amazing school! Love the college prep curriculum, even if your child is not a wiz-kid, they will benefit from the rigorous course load in preparation for some type of post-secondary education (college, trade, CC, military).
