Conn-West is a public elementary school just west of downtown Grandview that serves nearly 400 students from kindergarten through fifth grade. The school’s mission is to “provide a safe and caring environment that fosters social-emotional growth and academic excellence.”
Known as the Cougars, students at Conn-West Elementary historically have higher test scores than the district average in math, science and English/language arts. With a student-teacher ratio at just over 12-to-1, lower than the district average of 15-to-1, Conn-West students receive more individualized attention to help them through their academic journey.
At Conn-West, students can participate in such extracurricular activities as choir, student council and First Lego League. First Lego League (FLL) is a robotics club for fourth and fifth graders where they learn to create and program robots to complete a variety of tasks.
In addition to the typical three R’s of reading, ‘riting and ‘rithmetic, Conn-West students are taught to be respectful, responsible and ready to learn — building the groundwork for a lifetime of curiosity.

My daughter finished her first year of kindergarten spring 2019. I found the teachers and staff to be caring and committed to my child's education. Nothing about this school blew me away but it's an average education for children. Quality teachers and mostly caring people woefully underfunded making...

This school is one of the best i have been to so far so great the teachers are wonderful and so understanding. The principal even knows all the kids by name she takes the time to get to know them its amazing.
