Grayslake Central is a great all-around high school. It gets the job done when it comes to facilities, safety, and administration. However, there is still a lot of room for improvement in terms of academics and extracurriculars. STEM is lacking

Grayslake Central High School has been a wonderful place to receive my high school education. The opportunities I have had are greater than those many neighboring high schools offer. I have been able to excel in sports as well as in academics and there is no lack of support from staff when I need help reaching my goals.

I'm not a sports kid. I like that there are some good clubs and things, but wish there were more teachers that would sponsor activities. I have been in debate and tried being onstage. I wanted to start a D&D club, but we couldn't find a sponsor. I also have a dairy allergy and don't think the school food ever fits my needs so I pack a lunch each day. We all have to deal with things and find our way, right? I do like my teachers & you can tell they care. However, the grading policies are really harsh. I have ADHD and a 504 and its the only reason I can ever get any accommodations. They grade us with 90% summative, so if you mess up on a test it can kill your grade for the semester. I feel like I've learned a lot though and the general environment has always made me feel welcome.

HORRIBLE FOR SPECIAL & EMOTIONAL fragile students! They will ship you off to a local special ed/behavioral school any chance they get! Outside activities are limited, NO gymnastics, NO swimming ( they don’t have a pool) . Wouldn’t recommend for the cost the taxer has to pay to attend here. The SRO (...
