GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

School was renamed for Dr. Benjamin E.Mays as of 2019. It is now Dr. Benjamin E. Mays Elementary. The school is a Leader In Me school. The school has an excellent Gifted Education program for high ability students. There is much diversity in every classroom. The ESOL program is wonderful as well. The school is 100% dedicated to teaching and learing to read. 30 minutes per day is dedicated to independent reading for every child. A very caring staff with excellent leadership. The support staff of cafeteria team and custodial team are extremely good and a part of supporting the growth and well being of every child.

District administration could reduce class sizes and increase su...

Shame on the superintendent, the school board and the administrators.. But most of all the principal w...
