Opened in 1878, the University of Liggett School is the oldest private and secular co-educational school in the state of Michigan. Serving the community of Grosse Pointe Woods, the University of Liggett School also represents 60 zip codes across Southeastern Michigan and is dedicated to offering an outstanding education to over 600 preschool through 12th grade students.

Maintaining a vibrant theater and arts program the University of Liggett School stages two major productions annually and has received national recognition for its drama department that operates a part of the school's stunning Manoogian Arts Wing.

Liggett is warm and inclusive. Students are encouraged to ask questions, follow their interests and conduct research - rather than memorize and regurgitate rote information. The way that school should be!
