A great school," they say, even though they have never been inside its walls. I may sound like just another jaded student, but my experience at West Harrison is subpar. No auditorium for performing arts, but the football team (who won a maximum of 3 games last season) needs another locker room. I understand the push for students to go to the local colleges, and we have a handful of dual credit courses I am thankful for. However, our APs are almost nonexistent. I don't feel like I am challenged whatsoever. The administration finds a weird pleasure in "making examples" out of good students, which leads me to believe they are aiming to overachieve some sort of disciplinary quota.

West Harrison is one of the best schools in Mississippi. It is clean, safe, and well-maintained. While District policies are sometimes lacking, most faculty are always striving to be fair to all students. I would not have preferred to graduate from any other school in this state.

West Harrison High is an all-around good school. It follows a structure and rules well. However, leaves little room for freedom in the students.

Anybody who tells you this school is great is half correct. They don't, however, tell you the dark side of it. The Harrison County District is pretty good, don't get me wrong. Keep doing your job. I have never seen a school so dedicated to their students. They expect a lot and really work with them if they have a hard time.
