Hale Charter Academy provides a strong college-preparatory curriculum and premium fine and performing arts studio programs in a cooperative and communicative environment. Students are given opportunities to find their gifts and talents through a variety of college readiness programs. Students in the ACCEL (Athletics, College, Career, Extracurricular & Language Academy) gain the experience of solving real world problems and twenty-first century skills through extracurricular enrichment and language classes. ACCEL includes athletics for learning teamwork, sportsmanship and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE), SAS (School for Advanced Studies) and Gifted STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) curriculum use a variety of strategies to meet the needs of its gifted students. The Academy of Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) integrates core disciplines with the arts to provide opportunities for artistic excellence and challenging academic experiences. The Special Day Program (SDP) provides instruction in core content areas by a credentialed Special Education teacher in a small class setting. I have two boys in 8th grade and 6th grade currently attending and I have no problems with the school. The teachers and administration are prompt when I have concerns and in terms of academics, I am very happy with the content that my boys are learning. Sure the school has some issues, just like any other school with such a large student population but I feel that its worth it based on the environment, academics and school staff.
