GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

I like how our school is a small school so everyone knows everyone. Due to that there is a lot of bullying and it gets nothing is done due to "favorites". The school is very unprofessional when it comes to mental health. When your talking to administration how you feel you can be pushed away and ignored how you felt. What I hoped the school could improve on is helping students with bullying the first time they come to them instead of being told to report it first online on the school page before they do anything. Safety hasn't got much better here you can find an opened or unlocked door usually still.

I appreciate that my school is located in a small town and I can recognize most of the students enrolled at my school, as well as know most of them quite well. I have however always noticed that the students who play sports, or are considered "popular" would always be recognized for their achievement more so than the students in Math Team, ACES, Scholastic Bowl and other academic based teams.

It was okay until they new guidelines came out. When I left, some foods were close to reaching an inedible level.

Great school that provides a safe learning environment for students. Has one of the premier special education departments in southern Illinois. Works with local colleges it insure students have the tools to succeed at the next level.

The bullying here is terrible and admin here care more about sports than helping student with bullies.

Hamilton County Jr/Sr High School is too concerned with their basketball and football programs instead of their academic programs. It is a sad reflection on the principal and the staff when the students are not ready for college and are doing poorly on tests. There are some really good teachers ther...

The teaching staff at this school are very dedicated to education. The new administrative staff are very involved with the teachers and students. I have heard nothing but positive comments about this school.
