Hastings has some of the best teachers that not only teach the students during the day but are also involved in one or more of the extracurricular programs that the high school offers. Their commitment to the students, parents and community is remarkable.

The support there was amazing. I was part of the avid program and it was super helpful for my growth. Mr. Casperson, the art teacher, taught me oil painting and that became my favorite art medium. For the bad, the harassment for being different than 'normal' was bad. I had homophobic and transphobic slurs thrown at me without consequence to the people doing so.

Hastings High School is a very well kept school. It is big on music and arts. We have great sport teams but Wrestling being the best. The teachers care about us and want us to always try our best.

Unless you have the right name, are athletic or academically thriving, good luck trying to fit in to this school district. My child could not get the help she needed with math and reading. I got sick of fighting tooth and nail in trying to implement a 504 plan for her. Thankfully we got out of that...

There are a lot of children drinking and on drugs at this school. The school itself seems more interested in sports than academics.
