Hawthorne is a school full great staff and even better students. I have only been here for 4 months yet, I have noticed how friendly and bright everyone is. The only issue in Hawthorne is the lack of educational and extracurricular activities due to lack of funds. This problem goes for the food too. In my experience, schools that surrounding areas considered unsavory to be at is mainly due to a lack of opportunity to thrive. Overall, Hawthorne is just an enjoyable experience as a school.

It's a nice school. Getting better with the new principal, however it is also now looking a bit like a prison. I do know that they're doing this to make it more secure and safer for the students but it also isn't appealing and may drive new potential students away.

My personal experience at Hawthorne high school is very positive. I transferred from a huge populated high school to a low populated school which is Hawthorne and by doing this i was able to focus more.There are many programs such as C.R.O.P,and Talent Search at Hawthorne that help students choose what path they want to take on to succeed with their educational profession. I participate in both clubs and play for the Hawthorne girls basketball team and i grew close to my team. We were underrated until we won the next district championship since 2013. It was a great achievement.At Hawthorne everyone treats each other like family.The teachers are very encouraging and are very resourceful.

Both of my children attended this school, both middle and high. The school has a small town vibe to it and the staff seems to know most of the students. This is a multiple generation community and the schools have the feel of a family. That gives me extra comfort along with the academic opportunities through magnet programs, AP classes and dual enrollment being available as well!
