Established in 1980, Helen Stacey Middle School is a Title 1 public school in the Westminster Elementary School District. Home of the Cougars, Helen Stacey Middle strives to empower students to become lifelong learners and productive citizens. A California Distinguished School and Title 1 Academic Achievement Award winning school, Helen Stacey Middle provides a strong curriculum in the core subjects of language arts, math, science, social studies and physical education. The school also provides an extensive selection of electives including computer science, drama, a course in exploring cultures around the world, guitar, band, speech & debate and yearbook. Helen Stacey Middle is an environmentally conscious school and sponsors a garden club for students who enjoy gardening. The gardening club features a student’s Farmer’s Market and provides students with an opportunity to learn how to grow plants. Additional clubs that focus on creating community and bonding with peers include the National Junior Honors Society Club, the Leadership Club and the Dodgeball Club. Teachers are very kind and willing to help you in whatever way you need and ask of them. They are also very willing to help you start clubs.

In my experience, I had experience being bullied in the seventh grade. The school had safety policies such as practicing lockdowns and having assemblies where teachers had demonstrated the proper procedures in an emergency situtation.
