GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

At the beginning of every school year, our principal gives a presentation on all the rules and expectations teachers have of students. All of the rules are made very clear to students.

At Heartland Community Schools, students are encouraged to participate in as many activities as possible, and there are generally no conflicts between activities, so students can pursue as many activities as they wish. Many students take this opportunity, taking part in both sports and other extracurricular activities throughout all four years as students

I liked my school experience. Yes, there were a few teachers that I didn't always like the best, but there were some really amazing ones as well. One thing I liked best was the size of the school. It is a very small school, so I grew up knowing everyone. My close friends that I made there will always have a place in my heart, and in my phone. I keep in contact with them fairly often still, and I've been an alumni for three years now. ... Dang, I feel old... But I digress. I do have some regrets about middle school and jr. high, but who doesn't? All in all, I'd choose my high school over again every time.
