GreatSchools Rating

GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

My experience at my high school was an overall good experience. One of the best parts about my school is the faculty and staff. They are so welcoming and will answer any questions you have. One of the not so great parts was that my junior year, we started construction on building a new school and it was very loud. It did pay off because now, my senior year, we get to be in the new school for the first time.

My experience at Hesston High was positive as well as negative. If you don't have the "golden" last name you will probably not fit in. Everything is very political and you are not always treated fairly. Sports especially are all based on who you know. The positives are that I have never felt unsafe in school. It is a very small town and rarely anything bad happens so I feel quite safe while in class. Most of the teachers I have had have all had one goal which is the benefit kids in the long run. You can tell Hesston is passionate about sending kids out in the world to be successful.

My favorite part about Hesston High School is how passionate the staff is about their jobs. I have attended Hesston schools since the sixth grade, and I haven't had a single teacher, principle, secretary, or custodian that did not love their job.

I am a student at Hesston High. We recently got a new wing with updated technologies and a new middle school wing currently in the works, and there is also a new auditorium coming this winter. Not much to be excited about, leading to the 4 star rating.FOREMAN IS DA BEST!

Lots of bullying because the principle allows students to get away with it if they are athletic or have lots of money tied to their last name. Most of the staff is great, but equality and a safe environment for everyone is terrible. I even once talked to a teacher before graduating and she was not t...

Awful. Many of my fellow classmates and I transferred from HHS because of all of our horrible experiences.
