I believe the high school experience at Proviso West is what you make it. As with anything in you have to take the good with the bad. There are some parts of Proviso that I loved and enjoyed but there were parts where I had wished I went to another school. Not just because of the people but because of the resources, the well-developed arts programs and even the functioning sports programs. However, I have come to discover that because of how Proviso West is it teaches you how to find and make your own resources and paths.

There is teachers who like to teach but there are some that don't teach at our level, instead they teach middle school work, and it messes student up for next year.

Very hit or miss school. Some teachers are wonderful, some are disengaged. Many students act out, but many are respectful. The building is fine. If you do look for resources though, there's more than you'd think.

This is not a good school. Unfortunately I must say it’s the students. Their lack of care towards their education and environment leads to the teachers to care less and you can see it everyday. Don’t get me started on the drug problem.

Lunch lady's are rude when ordering food. The food was horrible by the way. Kids fight nonstop for fun some things can lead to death or serious injury. This is not a school. It's a prison

This is only a good school if you go in there with a positive attitude and enroll in all of the Honor/AP courses that are available. That is what I did and I made it to the top 10. Take ACT Prep and get involved. Other than that, stay out of trouble!
