GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

A lot of the traditional teachers that taught my dad when he was a youngin have all retired now, so an influx of newly-graduated teachers have come to Hinckley. The music department is phenomenal. The teachers are all dedicated to us students and often form a personal bond with each kid. They are professional and open to ideas, and the majority are patient, but assertive. I enjoyed all but one or two teachers at Hinckley, which is a fraction of what you'll find at other high schools.

One police officer is on campus during the school day. If your child is not involved in the group of kids who skip school, drink, do drugs, then he won't be one of the kids involved in a fist fight every year. Bullying seems average, but is taken very seriously.

There are a lot of good teachers and there are quite a few really bad ones. It keeps getting worse.
