GreatSchools Rating
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

The environment and atmosphere at Hinton High School exceed excellence. Most importantly, the administration and teachers are beneficial and teach because of the students, naturally, not because of the paycheck.

The elementary is the best its been in years. The teachers in the elementary, for the most part, really know the child personally and strive to help them if they're struggling. The technology has really increased in the last three years in this school. The Spring Festival is very unique to Hinton Schools. The program has been held for almost 60 years. We are probably one of the only schools in the nation to still wind a May Pole.

We have decent extra-curricular activities, but zero after school activities. I would LOVE to see an after-school program for the elementary or a more extensive tutoring program.

Hinton is a very underrated school in terms of the teachers. The school has many good teachers, but the students seem to have no respect. The students though who do genuinely care about doing well in school and sports in Hinton tend to. The teachers are good, but the attitude of the school needs to...

Most teachers at this school are brilliant and helpful. The rest are the exact opposite. The major problem with this school is the leadership (counselor mainly). The academics of most teachers are not too challenging, which is great for a student living in the moment, but later in life, it is harder...

I was a teacher for several years and can say for sure the high school is a joke. Coaches leaving in the middle of the year do unethical practices. Math teachers that cant help the students before or after school. There is no consistant discipline!
