If you are looking for a safe, nurturing environment that values the development of every aspect of your child's being, Hongwanji is the place for your child. Low student-teacher ratio allows for an individualized attention. Japanese culture, art, music and PE are a part of the daily curriculum. My children attended Hms from preschool through 8th grade and the staff are like family to us.

I want to move to Hawaii for only 3 years while I study for my BBA. My daughter will be in middle school. The thought never crossed my mind about racism because she is blond/blue, until I read the threads about Moanau(sp?) which is supposed to be the best school. Now I am worried and maybe thinking...

Our daughter who is now a middle schooler in the public school system attended HMS as a preschooler and thrived!
