Located in Briar Village, Budewig Intermediate School is home to the Bulldogs. Serving students in the fifth through sixth grades in the Alief ISD school district, this highly regarded school provides its students with opportunities to discover their interests and pursue their passions both in and out of the classroom.
Firefighters at Houston's Fire Station No. 76 nominated Gary Budewig for the school's naming, and the rest is history. Since 1985, Budewig has worked at station No. 76 as a firefighter after graduating from Alief Hastings High School in 1976.
At Budewig Intermediate, the students are held to the highest academic standards as staff remain focused on the importance of their education. Students can test to join the gifted and talented class at Budewig Intermediate. While an emphasis is placed on the importance of academics, the school also offers a myriad of extracurricular options.
With so many clubs available to students, there is something for everyone. Among the afterschool activities are cheerleading, volleyball, soccer and robotics. In addition, Budewig Intermediate hosts various events throughout the school year including sporting events, basketball camps, book fairs and other activities.
Students who live more than two miles away from campus or without safe walking routes to school can receive bus transportation. Crossing guards are provided along the route where students walk to school.
At Budewig Intermediate, children can participate in Children Interacting Afterschool, an afterschool program that provides educational enrichment and recreational activities to develop their academic competency, physical development and social development.

this school is horrible. My son went there last year and he was so sad that he had t hold in his tears in class every single day. The teachers were not nice to him at all and he felt very depressed. I hope this school becomes a good school because its not one for me and my child.
